Teach Furbo, originally was linked with Galway’s thriving music scene in the 1960’s, 1970’s and early 1980’s as it was a bastion of live music and entertainment, famous all over Ireland. Music promoter and publican, Bill Fuller bought and developed the property into a great music house and the venue was packed week in week out with the big acts of the day. Some of Ireland’s great acts of the last 50 years would have played the famed hall in Teach Furbo which today is our function room, the Aran Suite. Greats such as Paddy Cole, The Dubliners, Christy Moore and Planxty to name but a few played the smoke filled room on busy weekends with a huge following from far and wide.
Today, Teach Furbo lends its name to our hotel pub which is a traditional and rustic bar where on selected evenings, musicians playing traditional music entertain guests. Irish is the first language spoken in Teach Furbo, so don’t be afraid and make the effort and your spoken Gaeilge will be appreciated.
Our enthusiastic bar team are on hand to serve you.
The Bar Food menu is available daily (12 – 9 pm) with a tasty menu selection of snacks and traditional pub favourites.
