Salthill
Salthill is situated on the northern inner shore of Galway Bay, the Aran Islands are visible to the right and Galway City 'The City of the Tribes’ to the left. Directly across Galway Bay is the Burren (County Clare) and to the west are the bogs and mountains of Connemara. On a clear day you feel as though you could reach out across the bay and touch the Clare hills
Salthill beach consists of a series of small rocky or sandy stretches on the edge of Galway city, on the coast road to Connemara. The beach is accompanied by a long promenade which is very popular with walkers and runners. The Blackrock Diving Tower is famous the world where locals and visitors alike swim all year round and this area is probably the most Instagram friendly spot in the West of Ireland.
Just opposite the promenade in Salthill you can enjoy a fun family day at Leisureland with it’s weather independent attractions, all overlooking Galway Bay and The Burren.
